So I'm thinking of putting some subs in my 06 coupe. I have 2 12's and amp that I had in my z28. I had some issues with them ratteling some parts loose the bolts came out of the spoiler once, few other minor things. Not a big deal at the time I wasn't afraid to pull the camaro apart to fix something. I really dont want to be pulling the vette apart though. Has anyone had any problems with subs in their vette?
For a coupe probably, for a convertible no. Really depends on how much your top is off.
Any bass in the rear in the car disappears once the top is down. Not sure if it is the same for the coupe.
For example, on my Vert, I have 10" sub powered by channels bridged on a four-channel amp. It's a decent JL sub. Sounds like a symphony hall with the top up. Bass gets kinda lost with the top down.
That's why convertible owners need to be careful before they go ripping out that front-stage bass on the stock Bose system.
2 12's in a coupe would prob be too much if they have any decent power going to them.
How would you put them in? Unless it's in a custom box directly behind the seats it would be tough to get one full size 12" in the back and still get the hatch stowed, never mind two.
Ya I started looking for custom boxes and the choices were pretty slim for 12" only found 1 and it took up a LOT of room. I really like the look of the corner box with the JL in it. May be little while tuition is gonna take up a chunk of my fundage.
