Kenwood 9980HD help
Hi All, thanks in advance for any help.
I installed this unit THANKS DD, now i want to put in a back up cam. I bought a audiovox Advent cam330. install seems good but its not working, I am not sure of weather i should be using the wiring from the unit, Purple from unit to reverse lights (green wire) and the power ground running from the cam to the units CAM + and CAM - with the RCA going to the CAM RCA.
not sure what to check/do next. it seems like the cam is not getting power but shows power to the fuse, should I be using the purple wire or any wires from the 9980, heres the install for the cam, I know before you say it but I asking anyway

Camera has red and black power wires, black must be grounded and red must be on a wire that has +12vdc when you want to view the camera. You can use reverse light wires for camera power source, or tap a switched power source if you'd ever want to watch camera while driving down road.
Camera RCA plug gets connected to RCA plug on HU labeled reverse cam.
Purple wire in HU harness needs to be connected to +12vdc on reverse lamp. You can run it all the way to rear lights or tap wire in footwell. First pic of post #2 here shows which wire in footwell.
If you make those connections the radio should automatically show reverse pic when you put tranny in reverse with car running and radio on. If it doesn't, check setup of HU to make sure camera is enabled and set to + trigger (compared to ground trigger). Different HU have different setups needed, yours may not have them all.
