I pulled the aftermarket stereo out of my c6 and I'm putting the original HU back in. The only thing I'm going to keep is the amp and speakers. It's been a while since I worked on the stereo and I'm having some trouble trying to hook the amp up.
I had the pac-audio C2R-GM24 for the aftermarket to have RAP and make the remote turn on easy, but I can't hook that up to the stock unit. What part do I need to have RAP and remote turn on. I looked at the other pac audio stuff and can't figure out which one to get. Is there another option that I'm missing?
Thanks for the reply. I realize I don't need an adapter for the stock unit to work, but I do need one for the after market amp. I've seen that post before but my question is will that allow RAP and have the remote switch for the amp.
Amp trigger - yes if you tap wire at B3 to use it as trigger. However, the amp will be on whenever the car may want to play a chime, and those chimes will be amped. I'm currently using the oem HU in my car with aftermarket amp/speakers. I put in the Add-GM24 harness, but I also spliced in a C2R-GM24 box to use it as the chimes (rear signals feed amped fronts) and amp trigger.
