HD Radio Question
The HD radio stations that I am picking up on my DNX9990 often switch back and forth between analog and digital. Other stations which are advertised to be in HD come in on only analog. My installer blames this on the radio stations not broadcasting strong enough waves. I am 15 miles from downtown St. Louis and should be getting great reception. Am I missing something or does my AC Delco get better reception than my $1200 unit. The analog doesn't come in clean and my range is much less than my 2000 work truck's stock radio. Any replies would be appreciated.

You can search the interweb and find that HD radio is pretty much an orphan technology. Unless you live in LA, SF, Boston (and like college stations) there is not much out there...sorry

Thanks for the replies. I thought perhaps it was something that only I experienced.......perhaps something not connected right. That is unfortunate because the difference between HD is huge. Hopefully reception will improve.

It's just bad FM reception with the cars..
Last two years I tried almost 5 different HU
the last HU was the avh-p8400. I ended up just leeaving the tuner on analog, because I just hate it goin digital to analog back and forth all the time.
Now i am running the pioneer p99rs, with the hd adapter I'm having same issues as you.
Without the hd adapter its all static...
Btw this is all 10 miles away NYC...
With the scion(pioneer 4300) I have hd radio available almost up 60 miles away from NYC
Last two years I tried almost 5 different HU
