Issue with factory head unit/aux mode
It was recommended that I cross-post this here.
Cliffs: last night my factory '12 1LT head unit would not go into Aux mode when the button is pressed. Slightly more detail in the link below. I have not had issues with it before yesterday.

I haven't tried the CD player yet, but I took the car to work today and I'm embarrassed to say this was complete user error; in the daylight I could see that I did not have the line fully seated in the jack into the head unit. Gave it an extra push and it is back to working like a champ.
