Default inexpensive sub box option for a convertible

I had a customer call me and we got to talking about all options for sub boxes for him. He wasnt as interested in losing a lot of trunk space and wasnt to sold as of yet on the JL vert boxes.
So I mentioned I had one of these Pioneer boxes in Devans PT Cruiser.
I took some pics of this in the back of my 2012 Grand Sport vert to show how it will slide under the top while down. There is still enough room on the sides as well to make a couple small amp racks to cover amps too.
The rear speakers are still installed as well should someone want to retain these which you can not do with the JL vette boxes.
These sound really good for the $$$

Just another option for everyone

I had an opportunity to look at the 12" version today and it will slip into the same space. This is the location I am planning to do a sub in my vert. Using otherwise unusable space and hoping to move the "sound" a little closer to the cockpit.

There's a fair amount of youtube vids showing these subs and sound. Seems to product good sound.

What amp would you recommend brand and wattage? The 10 will handle up to 600 watts while the 12 will handle 800 - 1000 watts.

I've seen some ads with this sub paired with a Kenwood 400w amp but I don't know the quality of the amp or sound.

This is the sub we pulled out of my daughters PT Cruiser to test fit.
I am running a 5 channel Kenwood x700.5 to power it. The sub sounds really nice with this setup. I would have no problems with the eXcelon XR1S or X500.1 with this box. I also have Diamond Audio components are rear coax in her car all powered with the 700.5. This 700.5 is an awesome amp and we have sold over 100 of them this year with not a single return. Same goes for the 500.1 great amps.

This setup in her PT Cruiser sounds really nice. The bass it puts out is perfect for the car

Call me and I can get you info on the 12" with amp combo

do you think the 12 would offer anything over the 10 all things being equal?

I think the 10 will sound better and the 12 will be louder
the 12 is a different style of box and is two inches wider too so will set farther back into the trunk area.
The 10" box is smaller too
