Odd Bluetooth Issue
Have an odd situation in my 09 Z06.
I replaced the factory system with Kenwood 9990HD, new speakers/amp and all. I did use the bose/onstar integration module.
When I had the original radio I had my iPhone paired. I have since paired it with the 9990HD. Works fine.
Now for the oddity: Now when I am using bluetooth if I go on my phone and select audio source, I get the GM and 9990 as options. If I pick GM the sound comes out much better and louder through the center dash speaker (yeah I decided why screw with it) and if I pick the 9990 the sound isn't as clear and comes through the other speakers.
I thought the factory bluetooth was in the radio but mine seems to work through the factory channel even though it isn't in there? I am really puzzled since I even had to go through the pairing process with the 9990 so the phone is definitely picking up two different bluetooth pairing options now.
Just curious if anyone has any insight as to why this is happening or if others have noticed this. I don't really mind and I prefer to select the GM option as the sound is better.

Factory BT is part of the OnStar system, if you kept onstar functional then the BT hardware is still there. How it's getting played through the center speaker I can't answer, but I'd guess that the oem BT is defaulted to "always on" with the radio removed, so if you select GM on your phone it will play whatever you send. Since you replaced all the other speakers, you can then only hear it on the center speaker.
