Speaker grill/ Cover

So I am working on my front speakers in my 90..

I have some custom boxes made by a forum member.. here is the driver side, painted with speakers mounted..

Here is it in the OEM location without the OEM Speaker cover.

Here is it is with a OEM cover that I removed the carpeting from..

I was thinking about cutting the spider out of the OEM cover and then carpeting the cover exposing the speakers to be somewhat as you see int he second pictures although the exposed area would only be what is currently the spider section of the OEM cover.. Another thought was to add a grille to the OEM cover in the place of the spider section..

Thoughts?

Stretching speaker cloth over the entire oem cover would probably look OK, but I wouldn't cut out the spider.

Well, I wanted to post a picture of what I was thinking but I cannot find the OEM grills that have the spiders missing. The spider once removed and the OEM carpet wrapped through the opening then I would get a mesh grill to fill the void from behind.. Let me see if I can photoshop an older picture

cut the spider out and get rid of it.. it affects the sound.. get a sheet of grill material and form the piece, then cover that area with speaker cloth.
