Door panels are sent off to be trimmed in leather. Speakers and wiring done. Waiting on seats from Corvette America and some little pieces here and there.

Default Seats and Passenger Panel

Passenger Panel (where breadbox was)

Got the seats back from CorvetteAmerica. They look good, but had a few issues. One seat had the wrong switch (from 1990-1996 rather than 86-89). It worked but was the wrong color.

Also for some reason the side bolsters and air pump did not function. So they are being sent back to CorvetteAmerica to get get worked on some more.

Default Dash pieces

Some more of the dash is coming together. Note that the groves in the center dash and middle shifter cover have been filled before the pieces got primer and paint. Two of the vents were eliminated to make room for the integrated Passport Radar and of course there's 8" Alpine. All the dust from the workshop is pretty bad, but it's starting to come together!

Default Panels and Center Console

Project is still ongoing, but here's a couple more pics.

The panels turned out great. I had the stripes in the rest of the car repeated here somewhat reminiscent of the Grand Sport badge. Speaker grill and frame was custome made and that pattern is repeated on the rear spearkers as well.

A lot of stuff can be seen in this photo. The center console and shift console were reconfigured for new gadgets. The passenger panel was also replaced. The vents were still used but their location was changed. The switch panel and alert panel were both shifted up to make room for the new stereo. Openings for the radar were created in the center console and switches for the seat heaters were added in front of the shifter. All grooves were filled and then the center panel and shift panel were primed, painted and clear coated the same color as the car. The side panel is backlit with the Corvette emblem and the three switches control lights and the power antenna. The new Alpine INE-Z928HD is up front, above that is the Escort Passport 9500ci integrated radar/laser detector. Not seen but just to the left of the stereo is the Escort Live! component that connects the radar detector to other drivers using Escort Live! to alert drivers to hazards and police. The mic for the bluetooth stereo is located just below the tach. I moved it up to the top instead.

Project is still in progress, but I stole the car away from the shop so I could enjoy it for a few weekends. Car is filthy and has some missing parts still but everything is coming along nicely.

New head unit. Center console had to be custom fabricated to hold a stereo this large. Screen is 8" diagonally. It connects to my phone to stream Pandora, mp3s, and of course phone calls. The GPS is a step up from the Garmin I had.

New carpet. Changed from beige to black. Added the Roadkill sound deadener and embroidered floor mats as well. A leather shifter cover will be added to the parking brake as soon as it comes in from Redline Goods.

Console has a padded leather cover from Redline Goods. Rather than use their elastic I had the leather tucked in.

Door panels were custom upholstered in leather. JL 6.5inch door speakers.

New paint and emblems. Also added a backup camera. The long bar is the laser shifter that is part of the integrated Passport 9500ci radar system.

Engine is now a 383 stroker. TPIS Big Mouth Intake, ported plenum, TBK ThrottleBody, SLP Runners, Edlebrock Water Pump, Melrose Headers, Pro-Filer Heads, Comp Cam, Forged pistons, Scorpion rockers, makes a hell of a noise.

3" exhaust back to the Magnaflow mufflers

**** Auto dimming mirror with lights, compass, and temp. Just in front of the defrost vent you can see a small circle. That's the sensor for the automatic lights. Tweeters for the stereo were installed in the dash speaker locations.

HomeLink Garage Opener added to visor.

Passenger Panel with switches for the back lighting and antenna lock out

Stock wheels polished.

Integrated Radar Escort 9500ci with Escort Live! service. Interior center panel painted body color of the car. Two of the original four vents were used. They were opened up to move more air to compensate for the missing pair.

Seats reupholstered by CorvetteAmerica with highlight stitching and embroidered emblem.

Short throw shifter from ZR51 Performance with new **** from Corvette America and shift boot from Redline Goods. Switches for the heated seats can be seen as well as the shifter panel which was painted the body color of the car.

JL Crossovers are seen on the other side of the grill. The grill pattern is repeated in the sub box and at each speaker location. The JL HD900/5 Amp is on the left and the JL 13TW5-3 sub on the right. The box extends to the edge of the rear compartments so they can still be used. Rear speakers are JL C2690tx C2 Series.

I've been thinking a lot about the wheels. I have ZR1 quarters to get installed and will go with wider wheels at that point. Initially I was thinking of having custom wheels that still look like 1989s except in a 19" front and 20" rear version. That's quite pricey however, so I may go with CCW. Either way, need to get the quarters on first.

I also want a procharger and historically, my desire for go fast parts has exceeded my desire for look good parts.

Couldn't tell you, girlfriend at the time gave them to me and I've lost them since then. I should really stick to $5 gas station sun glasses.
