guys,

i am trying to install a GMOS-04 and steering wheel control adapter in my 09 Z06 and have a question. in the GMOS-04 intallation booklet it say that for a corvette you need to the cut the pink and orange/green wires before programming the steering wheel controls. i called crutchfield and they told me to instead cut the pink and the green/orange wires. the guy claimed it was a typo in the booklet.

has anybody heard about this? has anybody done this install?

 

What model SWI?

For any SWI, on plug C1 you need to supply +12v at pin A6 and connect pin A7 to SWI input wire.

Just finished my install, i reconnected the orange/green and it worked. . . Kinda. Volume works, 1-6 works and will go to the next song on pandora. Arrow up will change the source input and arrow down the alt whatever that is.

I thought about cutting the green/orange but it was so small, I didn't want to mess with it. Would love to hear if you tried it and what the result was.

 

You should be able to manually configure the SWI buttons if you want to

 

i finally got around to installing it yesterday. my results were the same as you described. overall i am appy with te results.

Angel called us for help with a harness Crutchfield recommended and sold him(metra) as I tols him I would have used the S2CBOSE myself . I hooked him up with 1func5 and Angel drove the 4 hours to Steven to get this fixed and install

Soooooooo, does it work as I described or not?

 

My wife bought a Kenwood dnx570hd for my 2011 GS through Crutchfield.
I've been trying to get this to work with the harness they sent, gmos-04, AWSC and relay. The radio does not do anything but the red triangle light flashing. I saw your post about the relay and that it is not needed. I took that out and left the yellow 24 pin to yellow radio harness. The blue and white which they said to cut and insert the relay I've connected together again and the blue white from the other side of the gmos-04 to the radio harness blue white. There are two red wires on the 16 pin gmos-04 harness which I assume are both ignition. Not sure why there are two but one is connected to the radio harness red and the other to the AWSC red. The black 24 pin wire goes directly to the radio harness black wire.


Crutchfield said to cut the 24 pin harness pink and orange green per the gmos-04 instruction book on page 7 to the gmos-04.


They also said not to use the blue pink 16 pin harness.


The AWSC is not using orange green and what looks like peach.


I'm so appreciative of your advice. I've been working on this for 2 days. I've disconnected everything from the radio but the harness and the white connector with the prk sw and reverse wires. It still won't power on.


When I connect the radio to yellow it powers up.

 

Red, black, and yellow from GMOS connect to same color on radio (there should only be one of each).

Blue/white 'amp remote' from radio gets connected directly to wire at Pin B3 of 24-pin plug.

For everything else besides relay just follow the instructions (mostly matching colors).

 

Thank you, turns out they sent me a harness pinned out that was incorrect. I bought another one at Best Buy and compared then used it instead.
