my 87 vette has the Delco Bose cassette player. If I dump the Bose and go with a non Bose jensen CD cassette player, will the speakers work with an amp integrator? Thanks, James in Clovis
You need an power converter. The run about $50-75. Then yes, you can run the crappy paper designed in the late 70s to play "The Hustle" and the Bee Gees Bose speakers with your Jensen.
Who is The Hustle? I've never heard of them. By the late 70s I had been an adult for many years with a wife and kids. I quit listing to rock in the late 60s.
I think you'd have much better sound if you got rid of all the Bose components. I'd heard that the amps in the speakers produce some kind of hum when they try to compete with the amp in the head unit. You can always sell the Bose on Ebay, that's what I did with mine. :D

Wow, this is becoming a common question, perhaps I should just write up a blanket response and cut and paste it from now on.
To answer your question, yes, an "OEM Converter" will allow you to play the ½ Ohm Blose speakers with your aftermarket HU. You will need two of them for stereo separation and they cost from $50 to $90 USD each. It is not a recommended rout to take since these converters will make your Blose amps die a slow death and will probably even kill your new HU.
I would suggest you buy new aftermarket speakers as well when you get your HU and you will be much happier with the sound quality.
Simply set aside all of your Blose equipment in a closet to be reinstalled some day if you ever choose to sell your Vette.
