custom sub/ speaker box (C5)
First i took measurements and made my own mdf partition and created a baseboard

then made some dividers as im planning on having the sub in the middle and 6.5 components on the sides these dividers are here for the sub to have its own airspace.

next i put the box back in the car and laid down some sheets of aluinum foil and tape to form a shape that would conform to the inner fenders (note i glassed past the edges of where i wanted the sides to be so it would be more rigid. so i did have to trim it carefully to remove the box from the car)

i trimmed the edges and prepped for the next step

here you see me placing my speaker rings using temporary stands with hot glue. they will later be removed once the top has cured.

once everything was in place how i wanted it, i stretched a cotton spandex cloth i got from the fabric store over the box creating the organic shape i was going for.

for this step i used fiberglass resin to soak the stretched cloth . the wetter it gets the more rigid it will be. after that cured i sanded it and reinforced it from the inside and some on the outside where i couldnt get my hands on the inside.

test fit into place.. this thing fits like a glove. had to unbolt the top of the seatbelts temporarily to slide it into place

this is after a ton of sanding and using rage gold polyester body filler (better version of bondo)

after a coat of primer

after paint ... still waiting for it to dry then tommorow starts the wiring etc to get everything installed into the car .

Just kidding. Brother, that looks absolutely PHENOMINAL!!!! IN fact, I think you should consider selling your homemade partition. Although I already have a speaker box in the rear of my FRC (not entirely sealing off the area and not remotely close to your work of art) I am still satisfied. But this.....
YOu need to go into business buddy.
SELL SELL SELL
While I understand the C6Z is a coupe, I do not like the idea that anything placed in the rear is susceptible to rolling or flopping any which way. I was looking into the hatch area wondering just how one could partially seal it off like that of a partition, but be most useful as a "trunk" where things are placed inside a custom box big enough to put items such as two chairs, some cleaning supplies, or maybe even a crying kid.
Can you visualize what I am thinking?
Will this be your next weekend project?
Will you give me a deep discount on your end product?
Hahahaha You do some stunning work bro. One of the best since I reviewed pages and pages and pages or that guy who fabbed up his BMW in Germany. Sick-mad fabrication skills. Both of you.
