I have a 1990 Corvette with the Delco Bose Gold stereo system. The radio is the only thing that works (CD player and tape deck are shot) and the only speaker that seems to work is the front driver side speaker. I just bought the car not even 2 weeks ago, so I don't know just how good a Delco Bose Gold system truly sounds. What is my best bang for the buck? Replacing everything with refurbished components or having a professional shop rip it all out and replace with a decent aftermarket system? Please share your thoughts and past experiences :)
Well... the stock Bose sounded o.k. But what really bothered me was not being able to FF/Rev through discs in the changer. The previous owner neglected to match the components :nono:
I bit the bullet and had a matched Alpine/Boston Acoustics system installed.
The price was $$$$ but I got a break because I bought the speakers, changer, & amp on Ebay. Tw****r did a nice custom tub for the subwoofer in the center compartment. The Alpine amp for the system that I bought on Ebay was defective, & I had to buy another amp & that jacked up the price.
