okay, this is kinda complicated lets see if i can explain it
-a few years ago, I got a pioneer stereo installed, with an amp giving power to the rear speakers
-screen cracked
-Bought a new (different model) pioneer stereo. installed it, and I have no rear speaker power.
-I'm not sure if the speakers worked before
-Now, tearing it apart... There was no wire connected from "rear output + or -" on either side
-so, I removed a rear speaker and plugged the speaker in directly to the head unit and I got power.
-The amp isn't getting power, from the test ive done it's bad.
-Goal: im trying to bypass the amp. I just want to hook up the speakers as original. I can't find the wires for the rear speakers. Basically im missing the middle piece. I need the wire that goes from the head unit from the stereo.
I'm not sure what middle piece you're talking about, but sounds like you can run new speaker wires from HU to rear speakers
That's what I was thinking, but how much of a PITA is that to do it right? Would I need to get all behind the dash, or do you think it'd be easy to go under the carpet?
I'm not familiar with C4 at all, but C5/6 are some of the easiest cars ever to run speaker wires. Tucked under carpet is fine, just shove it under far enough so it won't get snagged by anyone.
