there is a black with yellow stripe wire coming from the gmos 04 harness
you will need to pull the radio out
take this wire and strip it back.
With the onstar working and playing touch the wire to a grounding point.
This will drop the volume of the onstar
you can do this a couple times to drop volume
there is no where to connect this black with yellow stripe on the Kenwood to do this and I have found out its in the install instructions on the gmos 04
Thanks Dennis. I saw that on the instructions but didn't see the wire. The instructions that I have didn't explain how to adjust the chimes and audio volume seperately like your web site does so I thought there might be another procedure.
My last problem is where to put the XM antenna. I just stuck it on top of the receiver under the vent. Bad idea. I get lots of drop outs and no signals. I put the nav antenna actually in the vent and it works great. Where would you suggest I try next?
The center dash speaker is directly above your XM antenna, if you pull up the plastic cover for that speaker you can fish the antenna up to the dash. Use double-sticky tape to attach the antenna to the frame under the plastic speaker cover, it should fit fine.
