Default Bit the satellite bullet today......

Well, after months of research and study (well, maybe not research and study, more like sittin on the fence thinkin'), I finally bit the bullet on satellite radio today. I went with Sirius, because I like their programming better. I listened to it live at their website for the last several nights, and I was consistently pleased no matter what station I selected.

As to equipment, XM clearly has more choices on the shelf, which made it a little more difficult to make the decision for Sirius. I finally found a setup I liked with the Clarion DSH920S receiver, DSC920S controller, and FM200 FM modulator( I know I'm gonna hear about FM modulation, but to my 44 year old ears, I can't tell the difference). This setup is very similar to the Pioneer FM903. The hard part was finding this unit. Crutchfield had it, but I wanted to do this today, so I looked locally and found it at CarToys. They were substantially less than Crutchfields.

I installed it this evening, putting the receiver in the center storage compartment on the 'vert, and the FM modulator in the right storage compartment, so I'd have easy acess to the antenna connection. The controller fits in the ashtray compartment, with the lighter and ashtray removed.

Now, how does it work, well, just as it should so far. I haven't had much of a chance to check it out on the road, but what little I did, there were no drop outs, and it sounded great.

I'm going to try to get some pics tomorrow and post them.
