Re: alarm question (emsrescu)
They usually hook up so the switch will send a ground to the alarm unit when activated. Since you don't have ground in the fiberglass, you may have to run a ground to the switch. What brand/model is it?

Re: alarm question (emsrescu)
Yeah, I used to install those. It wants a ground to be sent to the unit from the pinswitch when the door opens. The other way to hook it up is from an interior light.
Is this the diagram you are looking at or something similar? http://www.waycoolinc.com/z3/book/basic.html

You need to run the wires from the pin then to the negative trigger on the alarm. You should try to get your interior lights working at the same time. Chances are, they aren't working because one of the pinswitches is busted. I'd replace both and see if they work. If they do, you can get the ground from the interior light assembly which I think you have one under the dash. Makes wiring it alot easier and solves the interior light problem as well.

Then I would test the wire at the bulb to see if its working in sync with the pins. If it isn't and its working with the timer, tap off the pins and use that wire or replace the timer.
