That does not sound good. Kenwood was helpful to me too, but still not working. hmmm I wonder if this is just an issue with 4S?
Has anyone else had luck with an 4S?
I am due for a new phone soon so has anyone had luck autoconnecting via bluetooth with a iphone 5?
Did you choose the replace or refund option?
Actually, it would not work with my 4S or an Iphone 5 and a blackberry that the install shop guys tried. We could get them to pair but then it would not retain the "pairings" after the power was shut off and, like you, I would have to go through the whole procedure each time I started the car. Hell, it was easier and safer to pull the phone out of my pocket to place and receive calls.
Replacing the 9990 was not an option because they already quit making them and started producing the DNX890HDs that replaced them. So, I got the 890HD and a little money back because the 890 sold for a little less than the 9990 did. I looked at the Pioneers but still liked the KW better. I've had it about 4 months. Its not perfect but I am happy enough with it for now. I hope things work out for you and you do not have to drive around with a hole in your dash for 3 months this summer.
If you guys have the BT settings set to OEM then this is your problem...You can not have it set to OEM as your not using the Maestro harness that is not available yet to set it to OEM.

Thanks DD for the suggestion. Perhaps it might help the OP. In my case I had a unit that worked fine for about 6 weeks and then started having problems.
Yippie! DD that was it. the Blue tooth is auto connecting and the setting for mic gain and noise reduction are there. Wifi wont auto connect but I will live with that.
By the way everyone, you have 30 days from when you buy the stereo to when you can have a post mark on your rebate, I missed mine by a week and they wont pay the $. I waited because it was having issues...not a good reason according to them.

glad it worked out for you. I figured the OEM setting was on
I will check to see if there is any settings for the wifi. Mine auto connects at home and the shop but I have to connect my phone manually as I have to turn the wifi hotspot on on my phone for it to connect
After opening the faceplate to reveal its SD card slot, I inserted the card, but the faceplate won't close. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?
I never ran into that. i just press and release the same button to open it and it closed for me. There is a way to change how much it closes, but you will need to look in the manual.
