A few weeks ago I blew one of the front speakers in my C6. It was a JL C5-650 component. The fronts are powered with a JL Slash 450/4v2 amp with 150w going to each side. I also have JL XL XL-525's in the rear and a JL W3 Stealthbox sub. I do like the music loud often and want to keep the quality of sound good. The JL's lasted about 3 years and performed very nicely in that time but they're pretty expensive and cant handle the full power I want to give them. Trying to keep the cost down some I did some searching for good components that can handle wattage well and not cost 400+ for the set.
The Alpine SPR-60C keep coming up and look like they might fit the bill. By the numbers they seem to handle 35w RMS more than the JL's and over 100w more than the peak of the JL's. Reviews I've read also say the sound quality is good also. Anyone have these or know about them? Any other suggestions are welcomed.
