1984 New Stereo System Install Project

Great looking install. I have a 1984 with Bose. But I was looking for something quick and cheap. I was thinking of just replacing the Head Unit. If I find a BOSE DIN and a half unit and install it will it work with the BOSe speakers in the car? Assuming that the speakers are in working condition, of course.
It's a simple install, but budget minded with room for growth as money rolls in.
Quick and dirty you can do by finding a stock bose radio for the 84 on ebay, the issue comes in that IF your amps are not working or because this system is soooo old your speakers may not be working so you will spend more money fixing an almost 30 year old system.
But if you want to keep the car original than there are specialists that repair the amps on these cars. You can do a search on here to find them.

Oh and to update this thread, yes i finally got all the wiring behind the dash soldered and done. And the HU installed.
Sounds pretty good, will sound better once the amp is installed.
Added new power/ground wires 14 guage,
Turns out the po had the wrong fuse amp ratings in most of the slots.
ie: 20A instead of 25 on the wiper motor circuit, 10A on the ctsy light circuit instead of the 15 needed etc etc, WOW seriously ???? yeah.
