Can the audio experts here answer a simple question?
I have a 2006 with the OEM Bose and Nav.
I am perfectly happy with the sound quality of the Bose system, but the Nav is antiquated and lacks the ability to use an iPad or other device.
So my question is simple:
"Is there a head unit out there I can install in my car that does not require my needing to change/add speakers, amps, or whatever that gets me a good Nav system (like a Garmin) and device connectivity?"

ANY aftermarket double-din sized unit is an easy swap if all you want is a new radio/nav. I'm partial to Pioneer, but Kenwood has the best Nav.
Without steering wheel controls in an '06, if you don't have or want to keep onstar it's pretty much plug-n-play with the C2R-GM24 adapter.

Thanks, but when one is just not familiar with all the terms and technology in car audio, the "search" function just winds up in a sea of confusion. If this thread winds up helping zero in on a specific unit and I can buy a new or used unit with the confidence that it's going to work, then great.

All these Kenwood units have Garmin NAV
NO OTHER double din radio will get you Garmin NAV unless it says KEnwood on it.

I had a Pioneer AVIC Z3 for the last 4 years...I really liked that unit. But it unexpectedly starting have issues (door getting stuck; volume intermittent)...so I replaced it with a Kenwood DNX890HD...I'm still getting used to it...but it's a nice unit...
