Have a JL Stealthbox for C6. It has a threaded hole in the bottom I assume for drilling through the cubby.

Is it really necessary to bolt this thing down or just put it in the cubby? Pretty tight fit on its own. I guess it could come out if we rolled the car or endoed it.

I believe they recommend drilling the cubby and installing a bolt to keep it in place 'just in case'. I haven't tried with a JL box, but my VetteNuts box isn't coming out of the hole unless the hatch is open, so I'm not worried at all about not bolting mine down.

Well if loose is good enough for Mark its good enough for me. By the way I just fired up the new system and everything works first time out thanks to YOU. Also Dennis at Double D. Amp fired up, deck fired up, sub thumps, so now back out to put it all back together and tidy up some extra long speaker wire.

Thank you so much for all your answers and help along the way!!!
