New System Design / Opinions and Help Needed
The use: currently a garage dweller with occasional driving, soon to become a daily driver once my kid takes over my daily driver.
The design intent: significantly better sounding audio than stock; bluetooth for hands-free calling; iPhone 5 as primary source for audio entertainment and turn-by-turn navigation (wired is fine - bluetooth only desired for calls).
HU Preferences: clean, intuitive interface but feature-packed. Single DIN a must. I do not want to spend 1/4 of my budget on modifying the dash (and no, I don't trust my skills or tools to do the job myself). Would love the ability to have 2 iPhones (a 4s for work and a 5 personal) connected via bluetooth for hands-free calling. The choice I listed below doesn't provide this. There are units out there that do (JVC has some?). I have an AppRadio2 in my daily driver and generally like it, though there are some quirks.
The budget: $1500 max cap. I will do the installation work myself.
The current design:
-Pioneer AVH-X7500BT Head Unit. Again, I generally like my AppRadio2 and this is close to it. $403 on Amazon
-Polk Audio MM6501 6.5" component speakers in the door mounted with Madvette custom-cut plates. Anything out there sound better for similar price? I heard the JL C5's and the Polks and preferred the Polks - was surprised they are cheaper than the JL's. But I haven't heard much else. $198 on Amazon and $38 from madvettes
-JL JX360/2 for the door speakers. $140 on Amazon
-Abandon the existing rear fill speakers and leave them in place
-JL 10W3V3 2ohm in a DoubleD box. $250 from Double D Mods
-JL JX500/1D for the sub. $175 on Amazon
Madvette Amp Rack with the fans, but no LED lights or plexiglass. This is a nicety that could be removed. I just need to find a good way to mount the amps and still have decent access to them and provide sufficient cooling. For $140, the amp rack seems like a good choice.
Wiring and misc. install materials: $200 +/-
Questions:
1. Thoughts on the product choices (given the budget)?
2. Will the stock alternator suffice?
3. What's the preferred wiring manufacturer / supplier (given the budget)
4. Do I need to update the "big3" wiring?
5. Anything else I'm missing or haven't considered here?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts and help!!

I have your email and will reply to it this morning
I would not buy JL on Amazon as any Amazon purchases DO NOT get you a warranty
Second
Madvette was booted from here a vendor for various reasons. Someone else didn't know this and recently posted this
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...torsports.html
Here is what I would do it it were me for your budget
App Radio 3 with your sent to us for modification in stock black with ash tray
Kenwood XR900/5 5 channel amp ran as a 3 channel
Arc Audio ARC series front components
Arc Audio XDI 502 for rear fill off radio
JL 10w3 2 ohm stealth box
GM harness
GM antenna adapter
installation brackets
JL 4 gauge amp kit
1 extra JL rca cable(1 in amp kit)
50 ft speaker wire
speaker adapter plates
shipping
1450.00 shipped to you
you do not need the amp rack as the Kenwood amp is small enough to mount behind the seats eliminating the expense of an amp rack that you may or may not receive
Besides, with your package I certainly wouldn't need it and that's cool.
I'm not familiar with Arc. Anyone here have an opinion / review?
I do like the idea of the AppRadio3. I like my AppRadio2 in my truck and would love to have consistent user experience from one car to the next.
You'll hear from me today.

If you're local to whatever shop he's at and can pay for something when you take delivery, then go for it. Just don't send any money and expect to get something sent to you in the mail.
Kinda sad really, he does do nice work if he isn't ripping you off.
I just placed my order with Dennis.
Ended up going with an AppRadio 3 and Dennis' modified bezel, Kenwood XR900/5 amp, Focal PS165 door speakers, Dennis' sub box with JL 10", and all the stuff to make it work.
Looking forward to getting to work on it and the finished project.
