Replace C6 Bose in steps?
Can you replace a bose system in steps?
Like, can I buy a new head unit and add a sub/amp and then replace speakers and add amps later?
Or add only a sub to a Bose system?

Yes we can help you with all the items and explain how to do this. I would also put in a 5 channel amp when doing the sub install then your ready to amp new speakers later without having to add an additional amp
Or add only a sub to a Bose system?
you can do this as well

Awesome, I had a decent system in my C4/1985, but the new Bose is less than decent IMO.

How many speakers are used in an upgrade?
Looks like there are a total of 7 stock speakers and one in the middle of the dash, I'm not sure what to do with that.
2 in each door and one behind each seat
I could see using only a 10" bass in the rear,

Dash speaker is removed. The two door speakers are replaced with a component matched set which is usually a 6.5 woofer in lower hole and a tweeter for upper hole. Rear speakers are users choice I generally skip them. Then a sub in back
