Default New Head Unit Install Questions C6

I am getting ready to tackle my FIRST audio install on a 2008 base coupe with Bose and Onstar. Here is what I am installing:
  1. Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS Axxess
  2. GMOS-04 Class II OnStar® Interface for Amplified Systems
  3. Axxess Metra ASWC-1 Universal Steering Wheel Control Interface with New Micro B Connector
  4. Metra 40-GM10 GM Antenna Adapter
  5. Metra 95-3304 Double DIN Installation Kit

Question is regarding installing the relay required for the GMOS-04. Where should I get the 12v contant power required for pin 87 on the relay. Do I need to run a new wire from the battery (if so any install techniques would be helpful)?

I always use the power and ground wires in the oem radio harness, just add the relay wires in with the HU power wires when you attach them to the GMOS harness.

I have a 3LT with multi-channel. I too am thinking of replacing my OEM radio.... But then next year new speakers and a sub. Question will the GMOS-04 Class be a waste of money if I intend on using a new amp eventually? Or would I always be able to use the GM bose amp even with new speakers....and then only get a amp for the Sub in the summer 2014.
