XM question?
I will keep XM module that came with the car,,, BUT, do I have to change the XM contract to the new Kenwood Serial Number or does it use the XM module serial number, assuming the XM module has a serial number
From a convenience view, ipod is way better. You're very limited with a thumb drive for how the music is played. The ipod is much more user friendly, especially when trying to find a particular song/artist/playlist while driving down the road.

There are very few 6th gen IPOD Nano's available. I found one yesterday on Ebay.
The described cables are for the 30 pin connector. There is a cable gender changer from 30 pin to lightening available that I ordered but I have heard that they work and I have heard that they don't. So an old style Nano is your best bet.
And that cable as well as the USB cable are quite thick and very difficult to get in the armrest so mine is in the glove box. I will just leave the IPOD in there and control it from the Kenwood screen.
