Guys I really need some help with this. This is my first time doing my own install and I just about got everything installed (lots of pics :D) and i'm having a big problem with my head unit! I have a sony CDX-MP70 and I plugged it up and it has power and the cd caddy pops out but the lcd on the HU doesn't come up and my amps don't come up.
I know this BOSE unit is different than the normal GM cars. I tested out the sony on a friends truck and it works perfectly. Which way should I wire this thing so it will fire up my two amps when I turn on the head unit and how should I wire the head unit to the wiring harness so that it will work!??!
I've been working on this the past 12 hours... i'm anxious, tired, a little pissed off and i'm excited.
Did you try to get switched 12 volts from the install wiring harness connector? If so it's not going to work. You'll probably need to go down to the instrument panel fuse block in the passenger footwell. Then tap into the feed (power with key on) side of fuse #11 for your switched 12 volt power. Good luck :smash:
I had to do just what you said. There was only one hot wire coming out from the wiring harness so I just went into the footwell and hooked it up to the accessory power. Everything was peachy from there :)
