Default 95 Corvette System Upgrade

Can no longer stand the stock bose system and it is getting replaced.

Not sure of which headunit yet as I might replace my phone as well so I can get a "mirrorlink" headunit and phone. (lets you use your headunit as a touchscreen monitor for your phone). Ive debated going to an android headunit, but dont want to deal with having to keep music on multiple devices and the current offerings are pretty slim.

I believe I am going to go with a set of focal 165 CA1 coaxial speakers. Has anyone here installed 6 1/4" components into the footwell? Im not sure how large of a benefit I would get over the focals. The footwell is a pretty terrible place for tweeters and I cant see them getting much better just being moved over a few inches.
-On a side note, Ive used polk db6750s and loved them. I hated my 6.5 infinity kappa components.

Rear sub - Im going to stick two dayton 8" subs in the rear speaker enclosures. Are these enclosures already sealed?

Amps - Ive got a whole bunch of amps laying around including a 2 channel rockford, an alpine monoblock and a buttkicker monoblock. FYI, the buttkicker's quality is on par or better than the alpine but its got a larger footprint.

Where do you guys place amps? Will anything fit under the seat? Im averse to having anything visible or taking up storage space.

Seems to me the foot well area supports a 5.25 speaker. Personally speaking, it's a waste of money. I could never hear mine. In a C4 you're limited on sub space. Do a search in C4 Gen on Subs or speakers etc and you'll get several threads on where people have put subs.

Personally when I had my 90 I just replaced the Bose with a quality 6x9. But I know, some people just have to have a sub. Nothing wrong with it, but you'll lose space. So you have to decide what's important to you.

Thanks for the reply.

I installed an 8" sub in a speaker cubby in the back tonight. Plan is to stick amps under the seats for now and focal coaxials in the front. Still debating bringing the tweeters up to the dash - just not sure Im going to like how it looks...
