Installed a Pioneer DEH-X6500BT single din into my '04 Z06. Utilized the roem/pac harness to keep bose speakers and I took the red wire and wired it into the yellow wire under the steering column like the directions said. Now the head unit is always on when the battery is connected. Doesn't matter if I lock the car open both doors etc. etc.

Everything sounds just fine and works great FYI.

There are two yellow wires under the column; is one always hot and one not or should I just run the wire to the wiper fuse?

The red should go to switched power I believe.

Well, I stopped being lazy and used my DMM to find the right yellow wire. It was hiding behind the larger group of wires that contained to two yellow wires.
