In my opinion the higher end ones do produce a better picture. I have installed everything from 200 dollar kenwoods to 20 dollar eBay specials from china. It really depends on what you wanna spend. My own car a 20 dollar china special is good enough for my needs

Thanks, I thought they were a waste until I had to backup several times around people and I sort of think it is useful now. The $60 license plate bracket Boyo camera seems sufficicent
Unless you thought ahead and ran power and a video connection out to where you could get at it when you installed the radio, yes.
Thanks, I figured it but though I would check, I plan to get power and signal at the backup light so I guess I will run a short cable from the head unit to an access area, and then plug into that spot in case the camera dumps and I need to replace it, thanks!

When installing the radio you also need to connect the purple wire to the reverse light signal so it will automatically switch to the camera, don't forget about that one also.
Got mine through Amazon, not sure what brand, yes, something cheap from China. It is the entire license plate frame. Hooked it up to my Pioneer double din, works great, except....... When it is humid or cold outside, the nice warm exhaust fumes tend to fog-up the camera for awhile. It does have the parking grid lines, works pretty good. I think it was certainly worth buying, unless I have the top down, then I can see the world and the camera is not needed at-all.

Can you give me a heads up as how the use the backup light for power to the camera? Would be very helpful

Connect red power wire from camera to green wire (+12v) going to backup bulbs (same wire as purple trigger wire connects to). Black camera wire gets grounded.
This would only power up the camera when you're in reverse. If your radio supports looking at the camera while going forward, you won't be able to do that.
