I'm looking to get a single channel amp to power my 10" Alpine Type R. I'm looking for something around the 300x1 range. I came across the Profile CL600M. I don't really know much about this brand, but compared to the prices of its major competitors (alpine, kicker, RF) it seems to be definitley the most bang for my buck. Has anyone had good or bad experiences with these amps? I'm strongly thinking about buying one, but if it isn't what its made out to be i'd rather pay a little extra and get something better. Any help would be greatly apprieciated. Thanks...
I would consider looking around some more. Havern't heard much good press on Profile. They maybe a few steps up from Jensen. Remember, MOSTLY, you get what you pay for.
Possabilities for Large name entry lines would be RF, Kicker, Coustic, etc.
If it is in deed 2 (2 ohm) coils, then you could series wire the voice coils, effectively creating a 4 ohm load on the amp. This would work for the 300.2. If they are 2 (4 ohm) coils, parallel them and use the 400.1.
Basically what I need is either a mono amp that handles 4 ohms, or a 2-channel amp that can be bridged to handle 4 ohms, correct? I found a Rockford Fosgate Punch 300-400S, those seem to be good candidates if they will work, will they??
Sorry, this is wrong. What you need is a mono or 2 ch amp that can handle a 1 ohm stereo or two mono load (same difference) In the Kicker amp line, this would be the 400.1 or 600.1 single ch mono D class amps. the 400.1 would be plenty of power (almost 500 watts) had for about $350.
