Default Interior LED question

I just purchased an interior LED kit from Prestige LED's for my C6.

...and as stupid as I sound asking this, I can't get the lense off the cover for the lights down by my feet. I was using my small eyewear screwdriver to pop the lense off and all it did was snap my screwdriver in half... Is there a trick to this?

Also, how does one pop the lense covers off the map lights in the rear view mirror?

I haven't played with it since I didn't get that far before my little screw driver snapped, but I figured I'd ask before I run into another problem.

I had no problem what so ever in my C5, everything popped right off...but for some reason, these aren't wanting to play nice.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Footwell - pull down the entire plastic piece the light is mounted on. On the front edge (rear most in car) look for two plastic friction/push pins. Pull straight down at those points, but look at rear to see where 'spike' goes into the support hole. Once plastic is down you can slide the light out, or just change the bulb.

Mirror - use small screwdriver to get cover off, but that's the easy part. Bulbs are a major PITA to get out. If you don't have a rubber 'bulb puller', a short piece of 3/8" air tubing will work.

Also for your mirror to get the bulb out a little strip of duck tape, two both sides of the bulb, and pull.

Aren't those bulbs a pain in the butt to remove! Just did mine, really thought I was going to break them.

Hey, what is with the little light the shines down on the shifter from the rear view mirror?

IIRC it's actually mounted in the passwenger side visor clip. There's a thread in C6 Gen that describes what to buy if you want to replace it with a new color, or you can just pull the bulb out if you don't like it. Later year C6's don't have it any more.

This bulb is actually dead-center in the bottom of the rear view mirror. There are also lights to the left and right of it. Looks like someone put some sort of LED lights in those two locations, and they look to be green and yellow mix. But that one dead-center..... Gotta take a mirror outside at night and see where it is.

The bulb aimed at the shifter in my '07 was definitely mounted in the passenger visor clip, and I don't remember anything in the center of the mirror.

My '12 doesn't have a bulb in either of those locations.

This thread has pics and part numbers for the bulb in the visor clip.

Looked tonight. Has a small light dead-center in the bottom of the rear-view mirror. Kinda dim, but it is there. Don't really notice it at-all unless you hand is on the shifter. For all I know someone could have added this. Just thought it was strange since it isn't bright enough for anything anyway.
