Re: Correct Imaging and Staging in a C5???? (NewVetteLover)
Most are called HLCD, Horn Loaded Compression Drivers. These were all the craze a few years back, but have slowly died down. If set up right, can sound extremely good, but still need a 7-8" midbass to go with, even a high-end tweeter sometimes. Biggest problem is setting them up right, takes time like anything else, and a 1/3 octive EQ is a MUST. But, rewards for hard work are sweet! I admit, I am a big horn fan, both home and car, love the detail. Still have a set of Image Dynamics Comp CD-2's laying around, maybe I found a use for them  BTW, there loud! http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/webs...cts/horns.html

I got the same set of horns sitting here at my house. Horns are an acquired taste as they do sound different then normal drivers. If you set them up right, they will sound good with very little EQ'ing. An EQ does help though in making them sound ground great when set up properly.

 As I said before and agree, I like the horns and agree on the aquired taste. Not everyone likes my Reference series Klipsch Home Theater either. :D
Re: Correct Imaging and Staging in a C5???? (M396 #00-011)
I just stumbled on to the thread and admit that I have not seen many people on this forum interested in imaging or sound Q. When I bought my car in April of 2000 I striped the interior out on the first day. After two days of accumating every square inch of the gutted interior we were ready to begin the install of my very simple six speaker system. Fabrication and installation took 135 man hours. Dialing in the system took another 40 along with several trips to industry specialists. The final result was a completely stealth installation that images like no other car I've heard. If you have the time, the talent (or access to it), patience, and some money to blow on a system, I highly recommend the combination. My signature lists equipment. If you want pictures let me know. I think there are also a few on my site http://www.javadizadeh.com/~shaheen/
