Default DNX691HD install, really poor XM reception

I went back to the installer, they moved the antenna to the dash. It's better, but still cuts out more than occasionally.

The XM reception in my Vette was flawless with the GM system, why would it be so bad with the aftermarket one?

And why can't the factory satellite antenna be used with the Kenwood, at least that's what my installer said...

It can be used if you run a cable back to the oem connectors on the wheel hump.

Use the yellow plug if you don't have a Y to plug in both, and just remove the plastic plug parts if it won't fit on your box/cable.

So why does my installer say he can't hook up to the stock antenna?

Because the average installer or audio shop does not take the time to source out the exact pieces needed to retain such things as the stock antennas.

We do and is why we offer them as an option to purchase with a complete radio package from us.

We only offer then to our customers who purchase the radio from us I am sorry to say. I just spend a lot of time to find out what is best for my Corvette customers. I require the radio to be purchased from us to get the full support and items needed to set us apart from your average shop.

Not trying to be rude or a jerk about it by any means and hope you understand. This is what sets me apart from the audio shops who do not know this car like we do.

On a side note....If you have a smartphone and another car with Sirius XM already...then you do not even need to purchase the adapter or sxv200 module. You simply just need to pay 2.00 per month to add the online login info to your current account. Then download the app to your phone and BT the Sirius XM to the radio. I always tell my customers this so it saves them 80-100.00 in the tuners and adapter plus savings on not having another full subscription. By doing it this way your sound quality is better and so is reception.....I am sure your audio shop told you this correct? Most dont as then they can sell you an added part you never really needed.
