C6 speaker upgrade = flat

Ok, so I upgraded the small door speakers in my 2LT C6 with Kicker KS 3.5" speakers, and i'm not impressed. Before, the highs sounded very flat, but now the vocals are almost non existent now. Highs are definitely a little clearer, but with no vocals, i'm having to turn the stereo up even louder just to hear what song i'm listening to.

Anyone have any recommendations to help make this sound better without replacing the entire stereo system? I've still got the stock 8" woofers, 5.25" rears, and center channel, and the center seems to be the only speaker making any midrange sound now.

What are your EQ settings at, have you adjusted them for the new speakers?

I have spent a month adjusting them. Right now bass is set flat, treble 3 ticks up from flat. It doesn't matter where I set them, there are still no mids.

Not sure what to tell you

I've replaced the 3.5" twiddlers with some cheap **** aftermarket 2-ways and they've ALL made it sound better

I reinstalled the factory speakers, and all is good again. Vocals have been restored, but highs are not as crisp.

Back to the drawing board...

I would just submit and get a good set of 6.5" components, a small sub and amp, it shouldn't break the bank. You'll be happy for a long time with the improvements.
