Hertz HSK 165 components
A while ago I blew one of my JL C5-650 components. Was searching for a set of new components that can handle more power than the JL's while retaining the quality sound I wanted. Heard alot about Hertz/Audison equipment and their HSK Speakers have an honest 125w RMS opposed to the JL's 75w RMS. I found an authorized Hertz dealer about 20 miles away, I'm lucky because there aren't alot of them around. I gave them a listen and they sounded really nice. Yesterday I had them installed. Driving the car home(closed NPP) I ran through alot of different tunes in my iPod that tested the speakers range and quality. The quality produced, I would equal to the JL's but the sound pressure can be cranked higher than the JL's without loss of quality. I'm happy, especially since I got them at a great price. Cheaper than any Internet places I saw selling them.
We're leaving for a 10 hour round trip to Watkins Glen in about an hour and will be listening to some sweet speakers along the way.

i don't like them. they don't produce 1-3khz very well. they get loud yes, but, there are limits to what speakers this size can take. you're better off using multiples of speakers you like the sound of to produce SPL
if i had to chose a high powered mid/tweet it would be dynaudio / morel
huge VC's and a lot of power handling capacity provided you don't beat the VC into the magnet
