Sorry guys for being a newb and this definitely classifies as my dumbest question being asked here so bear with me.
I have an 01 Corvette Targa Top which appears to be considered a coupe? I am wanting to order new rears to run with my aftermarket HU and no amp. I pulled the grill off the rear speaker and measured the speaker and it is 5.25" but I have read the coupes run 6.5" in the rear. Obviously if a targa is not considered a coupe than that ends my question. However if I should be seeing 6.5" in the rear, is there an adapter I need? Was the 6.5 only offered in coupes on pre01 corvettes?
The speakers currently there are stock bose, there is no chance the previous owner swapped out stock 6.5 to go down to 5.25. Let me know what I'm missing, thanks fellas.

Thanks boss, bolt to bolt is 6.5", user error on taking the measurement.
I am planning to order a set of Polk db651, debating now on whether to get the s model with a slimmer magnet or the regular if it will fit. Time to do some searching.
Thanks for the feedback. I ended up NEEDING to replace the fronts as I was testing out my brothers old pioneer 940mp deck over the weekend. I was verifying it still worked so I can sell it for him on ebay, apparently the 10 year old deck still fetches $300 used. It is powerful, 6.5v preouts, it blew the front passenger twiddler probably a 1/2 hour after installing the deck. Before it blew the stock speakers sounded night and day better despite not being able to turn up a whole lot without distortion.
Yesterday I pulled his deck out and put in my new deck, which is a refurbed pioneer 80PRS. At some point I may add a hifonics 5 channel amp with a 10" sub. Not going to get great sound but should be respectable at some point.
Thanks for the help guys, the rears fit perfectly in the back. I was able to install with all 4 bolts and grills, no spacers. Very pleased with the sound for the setup and price. Tomorrow I will throw in the fronts and should be set for a while.
