need help with deck install

need help with deck install
Car: 2008 C6, without Bose, with on-star
Radio: Pioneer AppRadio 3
Wiring harness: PAC OS-2C
Issue: Deck gets power, but doesn't fully boot. Doesn't load any images or logo, just displays a white display. Deck doesn't respond to any of the buttons on the face of the deck.
What I've tried: (all same result)
1.) Hooked up all the wires to include a handbrake bypass purchased on Amazon.
2.) Hooked up all the wires, but excluded the handbrake bypass
3.) Hooked up all the wires, but exclude chime device
4.) Hooked up only the red, yellow and black wire to the deck (my limited understanding, these are all the deck would need yes? This is most basic I could think of)
So am I wrong in my logic to unhook wires to just the core for the deck to boot? Do I have a bad head unit, or maybe a bad PAC harness?
Any help would be great, first shot a deck install here... so much for beginners luck

Try this:
Unplug the Pac harness from the car.
Connect Black Pac wire to Black HU wire.
Connect Yellow Pac wire to both Red AND Yellow HU wires.
Plug Pac back into car harness.
As soon as you plug in the Pac the HU should boot up and turn on to the point where you would hear music, if it works you may have a bad pac, if HU doesn't boot it may be bad

Plug Pac back into car harness.

Attached red and yellow together, and then attached black. Still no joy =(. All the others are taped off. Can I take the HU to best buy or somewhere to have them test it? Thanks for the help!
