I am putting together a system for my C-5. I have focal utopias for the doors a stealthbox for the sub and a Alpine 7998 for the HU. I am considering getting a five channel amp and adding rear fill or getting two amps one for the separates and one for the sub. Since most 5 ch amps are pretty big I imagine I will have to do an amp rack no matter what but I was wondering if I actually need this much power for my system in a C-5
Can some one make some amp suggestions? I am considering JL's line like the 500/5 or a combination of the 500/1 and the 300/4. I am open to other amp options please enlighten me.
I for the most part prefer the two amp approach. But many people have had great success and ecellent results with the 5 channels approach, and even a 4 channel amp, rear bridges for sub. Mainly falls into how much your willing to spend and how much room your willing to sacrafice.

Re: one amp or two? (JWilson)
I would go with the two-amp option personally. Have one 4-channel amp for the front component set. (Bi-Amp it) that way you get the most clean power to your mids and highs.
What kind of sub do you have?
You might want to get a mono block for the sub. Or, if you don’t want that expense, you could easily get a powerful 2-channel amp and bridge the sub (considering it is DVC) to run mono and run at what impedance you want. Just remember, most 2-channel amps will handle 2-Ohm stereo but NOT 2-Ohm mono. Keep that in mind when shopping for a sub amp. Know what Ohm load you are going to have in advance and get an amp to match it accordingly. 4-Ohm mono is the same power output as 2-Ohm stereo so when reading the amps Ohm specs, when it gives the 2-Ohm power output it will most likely be in stereo, unless otherwise stated, in that case, you can get the same power output from 4-Ohm mono. See what I’m saying?
If you are going with a single sub setup I would recommend you use a DVC (Dual Voice Coil) sub.
I have the JL stealthbox not sure what type of amp I need for that. Can the utopias be bi-amped?
Noel I have eyed your posts and would love to find the Diamond amp online but that has been a challenge thus far. Any URL's you can provide would be great.

The stealthbox comes with a 10W3 right? You're looking at like 250-300 watts to run it good. The JL 500/1 is probably pushing it. I've got a 12W3 and after talking with some techies at JL I ended up going with the JL 250/1. They felt that 500 was too much for the 12, so I imagine it's too much for the 10.
For what it's worth, I prefer a separate amp for the sub.
