Default Opinion on Stereo Plan

I am putting a new stereo in my '07 coupe here in a couple of months and wanted to see what people thought of my plans.

Head Unit: Alpine INE-W960
Amp: Alpine PDX-F4.
Front Speakers: Alpine SPR-60C component speakers
Rear Speakers: None, disconnect factory speakers
Subwoofer: Alpine SWR-10D2 in a Vettenuts corner speaker box
I am planning in bridging two of the outputs of the amp to drive the subwoofer and the other two to drive the fronts.
I have already disconnected the front center speaker.
I will also be installing some sound deadening when I put in the stereo..

I am thinking of mounting the amp behind the drivers seat on a board under the carpet. Where I keep the seat there should be plenty of room behind the seat for heat transfer.

Is there anything I am missing?

Thanks

Gary

Amp is rated for 200wRMS bridged, but...

To drive this single subwoofer, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 750 and 1500 watts RMS at 4 ohms.
So the sub will be a touch weak since it wants more power, and are you sure it will even fit in a VetteNuts box?

Other than that, looks like a good plan

From the dimensions I seen it should fit, be very close but fit.. Was also thinking maybe going with the 8" version of the same subwoofer, this subwoofer is closer at a power range of 150 to 300 watts.

Depth wise it's OK, but the width of the magnet at the bottom looks like it will be an issue. Maybe see what Marc at VetteNuts says, but you'd still need a more powerful amp.

There are lots of 10" subs that will fit fine in that box. I have an Arc 10D2 in mine that fits, but it has to be at a specific rotation to get the wire terminals to not hit the sides.

Sticking with that amp, I think I'd go with an Arc XDi 10D2 before an 8"

Oh, okay, I see what your saying.. was just looking at depth and not the magnet size.. Thanks! I will change over to a different Sub, will look at the Arc 10"!

How about this.

Alpine 960 with harness dash kit ant adapter
Kenwood XR 900/5
Morel Maximo Components
Morel Primo104 10 in driver stealth sub box
amp kit
rca cables
speaker wire
shipping
1599.99
Just put this setup in a C6 coupe last Saturday and it sounded very nice

We are building a box now for the Ultimo SC from Morel as well...

Dennis,
What about using the Alpine PDR-V75 in place of the XR900/5?

We can but
the Kenwood XR 900/5 is a much better amp....You also have a 2 year warranty with it versus anythings Alpine after 30 days has to be sent for repair should something go wrong(even tho it has a year warranty)

XR 900 is 75 x 4 and 400@ 4 ohm and 600 @ 2 ohm

Dennis,
Thanks! Was just curious..
The Kenwood does look like a nice amp!
Are the Maximo's the 5 1/4 or 6 1/2's? Do you also supply the door speaker mounts or do I need to get those separately?

Hoping to place the order in a couple of weeks, will be calling you on this package!!

Thanks for your help!!

Adapter plates included yes
The Maximo 6 is a 6.5" component

I did run rear speakers in the car last week as well....Coax 5 for 75.00 more

The customer was very pleased with the results too I might add. I will also say the Primo sub is a great sounding sub for the money

I used Dennis at Double D and have had the best sounding system I have ever built. I went with the Morel Virtus and have never been sorry!
