C5 iPod2Car Error
I have had the iPod2Car mod installed on my 2004 'forever'. Probably at least 6 years.
All of of sudden, with no known cause, I have a problem. Here's the deal....
-I plug in my iPod (or iPhone 4s)
-I switch the radio to the CD Changer mode
-I select music on the iPod and it starts to play
...... all of this is normal
Then, after about 15-20 seconds of playing, the radio display shows 'Err' and then the music stops and the unit switches to Radio.
Help! Any insight or thoughts? As I said, I haven't done anything or noticed anything changed. BTW, I have checked the DIC Codes and there are no errors registered.
Sounds like the iPod2car isn't giving a response to the radio that it needs.
I posted this procedure for getting a GM10-Aux properly recognized, it may work for the iPod2car:
Sometimes if you loose power to the radio (dead/disconnected battery), or unplug the GM10-Aux converter, your stock head unit may not want to go to or stay on "Disc 1 Track 1" like it should. After getting some advice from other forum members I put thogther this little procedure that has worked for me every time so far:
-unplug GM10-Aux from Cor-Har changer cable
-let it sit overnight (a few hours at least)
-with car still off, plug in GM10-Aux
-let it sit for at least 10 minutes
-turn on car & radio, select changer on radio
-if it works (Disc 1 Track 1) you're done
-if it doesn't work, leave car running but turn off radio
-unplug GM10-Aux, then reconnect it
-turn on radio, it should work

Thanks. I did have my battery go dead over the winter, and just recently tried to use my iPod for the first time. Problem is, I don't know if I am motivated enough to take everything apart to unplug the harness. I'm connected directly to the head unit.
