91 Bose Gold Rear Amp replacement. Difficult?
Has anyone done this and is it very involved removing the amp/speaker assembly?
I am completely comfortable ripping my computer up or building one from scratch, but when it comes to my Vette I am a quivering school girl.
I know that The General occasionally seems to insert parts that will undoubtedly go bad and need replacement and then build the entire car around it. i.e. those 50 cent garbage plastic door ajar sensors :smash: (I have seen better quality parts on a Yugo.....it took GM 3 trys to send me one that was not broken in the box...then they finally sent me one that fell apart once it was in the door) :mad
Bose sucks. The above link is to fix amps. It is a 2 minute plug the new amp into the space job. I would only replace bose if I was going to show the car off at a show as stock. Otherwise, save the cash and buy an aftermarket setup. $500 and you will trash any C4 Bose system.
Also the guy working on mine said that you should replace in pairs. Not sure if by side or front to rear. He also has worked on other Corvette's
