Need some audio help 2006 Z06
The car is a 2006 Z06 seen here.
and here is the audio system that was in the car, that has since been removed and is for sale if anyone is interested.
This included 3 JL Amps (300x2, 500x1, 300x2), JL Sub and sub enclosure, and JL Component speakers. The factory Bose amp was removed and in it's place are the crossovers that ran the speakers in the car. This was all using the factory 2006 Navigation head unit.
Like I mentioned, I have removed all this (weight savings) and have simply kept the speakers in the doors and rear as well as the crossovers which are required to run them properly...but I now have no amplifier whatsoever and nothing works because the circuits are broken and no longer connected.
I also upgraded to a 2012 Centennial edition steering wheel and would like to use the SWC's for bluetooth and for the head unit. The 2006 model head unit does not have those features, so I need to replace it with a new unit. I then need to somehow tie this new head unit into the crossovers to run the speakers in the car....but since I don't have the factory BOSE amp any longer, I assume I will need to purchase and install a new amplifier to properly power the speakers. Again, I'm not an audiophile and simply just want to hear the speakers in the car cleanly. No need for a subwoofer or lots of bass or anything extra, just clean sound in a very loud car.
What do I need to buy to make this all happen? I have called and left a message for Dennis at Double D as well, but I'm curious to get the input from others who may be able to point me in the right direction. Can an aftermarket amp fit in the factory BOSE location? Is there any head units out there that could power 4 speakers without the need of an amplifier? I believe my car had XM, but I thought it was in the driver side mirror....just not sure if that's the case and how that would tie into an aftermarket head unit or if I would need to buy a Sirius/XM adapter of some kind. For the head unit, I am looking for a clean large screen, bluetooth, navigation, and a clean flush OEM like look. Nothing too fancy, but I don't want junk either. Sorry this is so long, I appreciate the advice...hoping to get this done in the next week or two while my car is apart anyways. Thanks.
