I got 4 pioneers (4" in front and 6 x 9 in the back) installed and wires running to the front. I also have a Pioneer head unit. Here's where the problems start. The previous owner of my car had an intricate Alpine system installed and cut it out when I bought the car. So now there are a bunch of random wires sitting there and I don't know what to do with them. I thought that the only wires I need to install would be: 4 wires (one each for the speaker) 2 power (one for car on, one for all the time) and the power antenna plug in thing. Now I have no idea what to do because I can't figure out which wire is what power and I am completely clueless about the power antenna setup. I'll try to take a picture of it and get it up here soon - what should i DO?
Re: Got speakers installed, Head unit problems (Kale)
I have run new wiring to the speakers. But what color is power? Or should I run a new power wire somehow? also, aren't there 2 power wires? Also, i have the power antenna plug, but dont I need to run power to the antenna as well?
Re: Got speakers installed, Head unit problems (marthpodi)
You should always run new power and ground directly to the battery when installing an aftermarket head unit. I don't recall the Corvette color for antannae, sorry :(

Run to the harness that was cut, not the battery. You may have some blown fuses also. These are located behind the carpeted panel above the passenger's feet. Hook up constant+, Ignition +, ground-, Power antenna, Lights, and 4 sets of speaker wires(each with a postitive and a negative) Since you are using your own wire, put the wire with the writing on it to positive. This way you don't mix them up from front to back. I also tie a knot in the driver's side wire when I run both so I know what is what after running them together under the carpet front to back.
