 My old truck has a cassette player so I installed a CD changer that works thru the FM channel 88.3. It's been a long time since I installed it but I remember that the car antenna plugged into it and then a cable from the modulator plugged in to the car radio. If you had a unit like this I think that when the CD player was removed the antenna cable simply was not plugged back into the radio. Easy fix but you will have to locate the antenna cable and plug it back in. Getting the radio out will be the hard part. Good Luck

Yeah that’s what I was thinking also. Was the changer located/mounted in the trunk? If so, then they may have tapped into the antenna cable where it runs along the rear quarter panel inside the trunk and attaches to the antenna mast. Look inside the trunk, pull back that gray trunk liner stuff under the antenna and see if it is plugged in or not. If not, then reattach the cable and that should fix your problem. If it is attached, then run your hand along the antenna cable to see if you come to a break in it somewhere else in the trunk. If you don't find a break in the trunk, then pull the HU out and check behind it. Do the trunk first though since it will be simple and you won't have to disassemble anything to check it.
