Default Getting ready to install Amp, and Subs

So I'm getting ready to install an amp, subs, speakers, and also do the Big 3 upgrade.

I've searched the forum and found some threads, but I'm still not quite sure about the whole process. I like to prepare before I actually start doing something, maybe it'll become evident once I start, but almost all the threads I found had no available pictures to see.
It would mention to connect here, or run the wire through here, but once again, without a visual representation it didn't quite help me any.

I've found posts on how to go about the big 3 upgrade.

I've figured out the way I want to mount my amp behind the passenger seat by using the method on this thread. Only by simply going to a hardware store and buying some bar stock.

My question and reason for this new thread is this. How do I route the power cable going from the battery to the amp?

I've read that I can squeeze my 4 gauge wire through the existing hole behind the battery that has the wiring harness passing through it. But from there I haven't read much else. Is there more trim pieces I have to remove to route the cable underneath the carpet until I get to where it'll connect to the amp? And would it be acceptable to also run my RCA wire by the power cable instead of going on the other side of the car.

The power wire will pop out above the fuse box. From there just run it under the carpet along the door sill. You may even be able to do it without removing the sill trim piece, but it's not that hard to take out, pull straight up on the rear most portion and the rest pops out of the clips. Pay attention to how the plastic is layered on the front vertical part.

Since power wire is by sill, run the RCA's and trigger wire up the center (on floor next to seat)

Would I need to remove the seat to lift the carpet to run the RCA's down the center?

No. To get to wires behind HU you need to remove the center armrest and console, that gives you access to the top of the carpet. Shove the cables down to the floor (below e-brake) and pull them out behind the seat.

Since you didn't mention replacing the radio, if you're keeping the stock HU I'd make the Add-GM24 harness and use pin B3 as the amp trigger.

Ahh, okay that makes a bit more sense. I'll do that for the RCA cables then.
I've already gone thru 2 other head units that I didn't quite like, and I've settled with a double din pioneer that I like. So I'm pretty comfortable pulling the center console out, lol.

Thanks again markcz.
