My antenna ejected. I have removed the whole power antenna unit (3 lb. savings).
The interim antenna is the rear window defroster. Not quite as good as the old unit.
Has anybody had success with alternate antennas inside the body/roof/window envelope?

If you want to save weight, use a standard shaft antenna. Window, etc antennas never had good reception. You need a 31" verical shaft to be popular and have good reception. ;)
I'm using this Radio Shack "antenna tape" stuff on the inside of my windshield; goes up the right side then across the top. My reception is fine but I'm in metro Phoenix; kind of depends on the distance you're trying to pull signals in from.
I've also had good luck on a TransAm (previous life) with a flexible shorty antenna; 17" or so, black- about the best looking fixed antenna you'll find.
