It seems one of my speakers is going, I know that there is an amp for each speaker, without changing the head unit, is there any way to change the speakers?
You can only replace with the BOSE stuff since it works on different ohm ratings, etc. Not worth it in my opionion but that is your only choice if you don't want to change the system.

Yes, you will have to replace the Blose speaker/amp with another Blose speaker/amp if you intend to keep the Blose system in your Vette. It’s not difficult to do but it sure will cost a lot unless you can find one on ebay that still works. For the retail (Eckler’s MAD, etc.) price of replacing one Blose speaker and amp you could buy a decent HU and for a small amount more, have a nice aftermarket system that sounds better than the Blose ever did. (Price will be lower if you do the job yourself)
