Has anyone replaced the factory C6 Subwoofer (non Bose) with an aftermarket unit?
I have a Pioneer HU (3400) running on the Factory amp and the DDMods Kicker upgrade already installed in the car. I am thinking one of my subs is dead as it makes a rattling noise when the sound level is up about halfway.
I realize it will have to be a slim sub, but the rattling is driving me nuts.
Non-Bose doesn't have subs like Bose, they're just normal speakers. You should verify the size, but I believe they're 6.5". Any 4-ohm set should work as a replacement.

Cool - I can handle that just fine.
I just read an article by Crutchfield stating that Bose and Non-Bose both use 8 inch subwoofers.

I've never personally taken apart a non-Bose system. Years ago I believed the non-Bose sub was an 8" 4-ohm speaker, then someone corrected me in a thread saying the one they just took out was only 6.5"

Whatever size the bottom speaker actually is, it's nothing special as far as being a "sub" is concerned. It can be replaced with any normal 4-ohm speaker.
