Recently I picked up a 1999 Corvette and the previous owner had a Sony CDX-M7815X radio and a remote CD changer and some aftermarket amps. I want to remove the system and install a factory radio, but one of the "keys" (tools to remove the radio head) is missing and the previous owner knows nothing of it. I also have seen on the internet, while looking for an install manual, that the unit should have a remote with it, again none given or remembered. I need to get one of the "keys" to remove the head to start to see if the OE wire harness is chopped up or it was a plug-n-play install (highly doubt it) can anybody help me find both the "key" and an install manual..??

Is this aftermarket radio related or corvette related?
Best bet is just pull center console and remove radio like a stock one
The aftermarket radio does not mount like the OE radio. The mounting is "inside" a bracket that is bolted to the factory mount(s) but when I took out the bolts it did not come out, there must be other screws holding it from behind that cannot be seen with the head in.
